Win Big! Are You TeachKind’s 2022 Teacher of the Year?
Please note: This contest is now over. Check back soon to read all about the winner and runners-up!
National Teacher Appreciation Month is coming up, and TeachKind is looking for our next Teacher of the Year!
Do you or does someone you know teach young people to be kind to animals? If so, we want to hear from you! Nominate yourself, a friend, a colleague, a teacher at your child’s school, or any other educator who speaks up for animals through their work. Need some inspiration? Check out last year’s inspiring winner and runners-up.
What does TeachKind look for when selecting the winner of its Teacher Appreciation Contest?
When it comes to teaching kindness to animals, there’s more than one way to peel a potato! Some teachers show animal rights documentaries as part of their curriculum to develop students’ critical thinking skills. Others sponsor their school’s animal rights club or organize fundraisers to benefit their local animal shelter. Maybe you use lifelike models such as the SynFrog or digital dissection tools instead of dead animals to help your students study the inner workings of other species. Or perhaps you have your students research animal rights issues, like the use of animals in experiments or the negative effects of animal agriculture on the environment, and form persuasive arguments in favor of compassionate solutions to these problems. However you teach kindness, you’re making the world a better place for all sentient beings—and we want to hear about it!
How do I nominate myself or someone else for TeachKind’s Teacher Appreciation Contest?
Nominate yourself or another educator for TeachKind’s Teacher Appreciation Contest by filling out the form below by Friday, April 22. Let us know how you have—or your nominee has—demonstrated compassion for animals or otherwise taken action to help them this school year, and please include a photo of the nominee. We’ll choose one winner and three runners-up by assessing answers to the question at the end of the form and selecting the entries with the most inspiring responses.
What will the winner of TeachKind’s Teacher Appreciation Contest receive?
The winning teacher will receive an exciting collection of prizes, including the sustainably made Mountain backpack in Tobacco from “PETA-Approved Vegan” company Lefrik, a special three-pack of immune-boosting oral vitamin sprays from Dr. Spray’s, vouchers for five free Miyoko’s Creamery vegan cheese wheels of your choice, a $50 gift card for clean-crafted plant-based wines from Felicia Zeeh, an independent consultant of Scout & Cellar, a variety of cruelty-free cleaning products from ZolaTerra, a copy of The Vegan Way by Jackie Day, a vegan picnic bag filled with specialty vegan snacks, a one-of-a-kind TeachKind tote bag, our “Teacher of the Year” certificate, and an animal-friendly gift basket designed especially for teachers.
