Decked out in a sizzling ensemble of chili-pepper bikinis and red heels, scarves, and thigh-high stockings, two sexy PETA members will brave the cold and hand out tasty chocolates in downtown Columbus on Thursday to encourage everyone to heat things up this Valentine’s Day by going vegan.
When: Thursday, February 13, 12 noon
Where: The intersection of Broad and High streets, Columbus
“PETA wants everyone to know that going vegan is a great way to get a sizzling physique and have a red-hot Valentine’s Day,” says PETA beauty Meggan Anderson. “After all, there’s nothing hotter than being both passionate and compassionate.”
The consumption of meat, eggs, and dairy products has been linked to heart disease, strokes, diabetes, obesity, and cancer—not to mention higher rates of impotence. Cholesterol and animal fat slow the flow of blood to all the body’s organs—not just to the heart. And of course, going vegan spares more than 100 animals a year immense suffering on factory farms, in slaughterhouses, and on the decks of fishing boats.
