It’s a vegan turkey free-for-all! PETA will delight shoppers and passersby on Sunday by passing out free vegan Tofurky roasts stuffed with wild rice as part of the group’s ThanksVegan campaign, which asks everyone to give turkeys a break this holiday.
When: Sunday, October 10, 12 noon
Where: 600 Ouellette Ave., Windsor
“When people realize that turkeys love their families, feel pain and fear, and value their lives, they’re eager to put a vegan turkey on the table,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA offers recipes, shopping tips, and more so that everyone can enjoy a delicious ThanksVegan meal that leaves gentle birds in peace.”
Major grocery chains across Canada—including Sobeys, Save-On-Foods, Buy-Low Foods, and IGA—have joined the nationwide effort to showcase vegan holiday fare, and everyone can find delectable holiday recipes by ordering a copy of PETA’s ultimate Canadian ThanksVegan guide.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview.
