It’s a vegan turkey free-for-all! PETA will delight shoppers and passersby on Friday by passing out free stuffed vegan roasts, complete with gravy, by Sol Cuisine and Gardein, as part of its ThanksVegan campaign, which asks everyone to give turkeys a break this holiday.
When: Friday, October 8, 12 noon
Where: 5201 Queen Mary Road, Montréal
“When people realize that turkeys love their families, feel pain and fear, and value their lives, they’re eager to put a vegan turkey on the table,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA offers recipes, shopping tips, and more so that everyone can enjoy a delicious ThanksVegan meal that leaves gentle birds in peace.”
Major grocery chains across Canada—including Sobeys, Save-On-Foods, Buy-Low Foods, and IGA—have joined the nationwide effort to showcase vegan holiday fare, and everyone can find delectable holiday recipes by ordering one of PETA’s ultimate Canadian ThanksVegan guides.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat” and which opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview—offers a Canadian ThanksVegan guide.
