Please see the following statement from PETA Senior Vice President Kathy Guillermo regarding the death of the fourth person to receive an organ from another species, continuing the 100% failure rate of xenotransplantation surgeries:

Xenotransplantation is a dead end. It’s a waste of humans’ and other animals’ lives, a waste of money, and a waste of an opportunity to create a kinder, simpler solution. Every human patient who has received a transplant of an organ removed from a pig has now died, and none has survived more than two months following the procedure. Experimenters must stop tinkering and clean up the organ procurement system. That will save lives.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to experiment on”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
