Kelly Clarkson Home and Gwyneth Paltrow’s goop are the headliners in PETA’s first-ever Vegan Homeware Awards, which celebrate the industry trailblazers making home decor and furnishings kinder to animals. Clarkson’s home goods brand won Best Wool-Free Runner for its beautiful, bold Eloise Damask Rug, made with polypropylene, while goop x CB2 took home the award for Best Vegan Accent Chairfor their collaboration on the high-end upholstered Gwyneth Ivory Boucle Swivel Chair, made with textured poly-acrylic blend fabric.
“The winners of PETA’s Vegan Homeware Awards are proving that no one needs to use materials that exploit animals to create beautiful, luxurious home goods,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “In 2024, it’s easy to make an entire household vegan, and PETA is honoring Kelly Clarkson Home, goop x CB2, and all the other winning designers and brands for helping kind consumers keep their homes cruelty-free.”
PETA entities have conducted scores of investigations exposing cruelty to animals exploited for their skin, hair, and feathers. Videos have revealed that workers hit, kick, and mutilate sheep for their wool; leave sensitive goats with bloody, gaping wounds at mohair and cashmere operations; burn, electroshock, beat, and slaughter cows for leather; yank out the feathers of ducks and geese by the fistful for down; and imprison minks and other animals in filthy wire cages on fur factory farms.
The winners of PETA’s Vegan Homeware Awards will receive a personalized framed certificate from the group and a year’s worth of bragging rights.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
