After PETA’s tongue-in-cheek “Just Spay Me, Denise!” bus stop ads in Oklahoma City went viral, garnering 1.5 million views on social media, the group is back with another message—this time featuring a similarly on-point interaction between a male dog and his guardian, Brian. The message, which comes after the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare shelter announced that it took in nearly 2,000 homeless animals in May alone, doubles down on the solution: spaying and neutering.

“Anyone who cares about homeless animals can easily help them and avoid being a ‘Brian’ or a ‘Denise’ simply by having their dog or cat sterilized,” says PETA Director of Campaigns Danielle Katz.
Around 70 million dogs and cats are homeless in the U.S. at any given time. Spaying and neutering is the single most important way to combat the homeless-animal crisis and also helps dogs and cats lead longer, healthier lives.
PETA’s ad is located at the bus stop at 124 N.W. 23rd St. (at the intersection with N. Robinson Avenue) in Oklahoma City.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
