What brings Inside Out 2 star Kensington Tallman joy? Being kind to animals! Ahead of her return as Riley in the highly-anticipated spinoff series Dream Productions on Disney+, Tallman earns her plant-powered wings in a new campaign for peta2—PETA’s youth division—proclaiming, “Be an Angel for Animals. Please, Go Vegan.”
In an accompanying video spot, the vegan actor shares how animal advocacy is a huge part of her daily life—and a hot topic during sleepovers with her friends—and gives her advice to those just starting out on their “vegan journey.”
“You got this!” Tallman says. “Just take it one step at a time, and know that the choices you make have a huge impact for animals.”
In the video, Tallman reveals that her commitment to a cruelty-free lifestyle doesn’t end with her food choices—which is why she sticks exclusively to vegan fashion and animal-friendly cosmetics.
“When I went to the Kids Choice Awards, it was really, really important for me to wear a cruelty-free and vegan outfit,” says Tallman. “The dress I had was made from beautiful, recycled materials, and the shoes I wore were 100% made from vegan leather. Taking the time to just be conscious, we can make such an impact.”
Tallman points out that many young people may not realize that not all hair and cosmetic products are vegan—“which is crazy!”—and shares animal-friendly makeup tips for being beautiful from the inside out: “You can go on PETA’s website, type in ‘Beauty Without Bunnies,’ and it’ll tell you if that company tests on animals.”
peta2 notes that each person who goes vegan spares nearly 200 animals every year from daily suffering and a terrifying death—and offers a free Guide to Going Vegan to help those looking to make the switch.
“Every animal is someone,” Tallman concludes. “From choosing veggie burgers to cruelty-free toothpaste, your choices matter.” peta2—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or abuse in any other way”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers young people positive, empowering actions to help animals.
