More than one Vine-worthy moment came out of last night’s One Direction show in SeaWorld’s hometown of San Diego, where Harry Styles earned cheers by asking the crowd, “Does anybody like dolphins?” When the audience erupted in applause, the heartthrob replied, “Don’t go to SeaWorld!”
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to use for entertainment”—is pleased as punch and sending Styles a “SeaWorld Kills” T-shirt and a box of dolphin-shaped vegan chocolates as thanks.
“It’s no surprise that Harry Styles knows what young people care about—they love animals, and they hate businesses that hurt them, like SeaWorld’s orca prisons do,” says PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange. “PETA hopes that One Direction’s devoted fans will join the thousands of people around the world who are calling on SeaWorld to retire the orcas to coastal sanctuaries.”
