A meet and greet with actor Ron Perlman, a signed vegan basketball by NBA superstar Jalen Smith, and a four-day vacation in the heart of Mykonos: All these and more are on the lineup for PETA’s End of Year Auction, which will run from November 18-27, with 100% of the proceeds supporting PETA’s work for animals.
He may have starred as a tough guy in Sons of Anarchy and Hellboy, but in real life, Ron Perlman has a soft heart for animals, recently appearing in a pro-adoption ad for PETA alongside his sweet senior dog, Sassypants—a topic he’ll be happy to discuss over Zoom or coffee in Pasadena, California with the winner of PETA’s standout auction item. Meanwhile, foodies will be inspired to bid on The Ultimate Crossroads Kitchen Experience for two at the famed Los Angeles eatery, which includes signed cookbooks by chef and owner Tal Ronnen and a personal visit from Ronnen himself, while sneakerheads can score a pair of Puma sneakers for every day of the week, with the winner invited to select seven pairs of their choosing from the brand’s all-vegan Velophasis Always On Sneakers and Velophasis Phased Sneakers lines.
For anyone looking farther afield, bidders can set their sights on all-expenses-paid stays at some of the most desirable spots on the planet. Up for grabs are: a five-night retreat for two at Koukoumi Vegan Hotel, Greece’s only five-star, eco-chic all-vegan retreat, featuring complimentary gourmet meals, yoga, and massage; a two-night stay for two at a 16th-century “agrivilla” in Tuscany, Italy, located on a regenerative vegan farm boasting a fruit orchard, an olive grove, and a saltwater pool; and a four-night stay for two at the Laguna Lodge, nestled in its own nature reserve on the shore of legendary Lake Atitlan in Guatemala.
“From a dairy-free cappuccino with an award-winning actor to a getaway at a lush Tuscan estate, PETA’s 2024 auction offers an array of memorable animal-friendly experiences,” says PETA Senior Vice President Colleen O’Brien. “Every bid is an opportunity to win a wonderful prize and support PETA’s vital work for animals—it’s a win-win.”
Other exciting items include fur-and-feather-free winter jackets from Noize and Loop Division, body ink valued at up to $600 from vegan tattoo parlor OK Tattoo, a BAO Bucket Bag by Louis Lucano made from apple leather; and custom companion animal portraits by fine artist Leslie Crane.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to experiment on or abuse in any other way”—points out that Every Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness.
