A massive “goose,” “cow,” and “sheep” are towering over holiday shoppers at the Lincoln Road Mall, appearing in PETA’s new, can’t-miss message that’s wrapped around one of the mall’s buildings near stores such as Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters—both on PETA’s naughty list for their animal-derived clothing inventory. The bilingual appeal pushes people to “change” by embracing vegan clothing and avoiding wool, leather, down, or any other materials cruelly obtained from animals.

“No wool sweater, down jacket, or leather shoes are worth causing animals pain or robbing them of their lives,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “PETA is encouraging holiday shoppers to make the season bright for all by opting for cozy, cruelty-free materials like cotton, corduroy, fiber fill, faux fleece, and the many vegan leathers available today.”

Many brands—including Hemp Tailor, Save the Duck, NOIZE, and Wuxly Movement—sell warm, stylish vegan outerwear that spares animals immense suffering. Exposés by PETA entities have revealed cows being burned, electroshocked, and beaten before slaughter for leather; workers punching sheep in the wool industry; and workers tearing out birds’ feathers by the fistful for down.

PETA’s appeal can be found on the northwest corner of Lincoln Road and Drexel Road, near H&M, Anthropologie, J.Crew, Macy’s, Urban Outfitters, and Guess locations.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to wear”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
