A parcel from PETA packed with animal-free goodies—including vegan chicken, plant-based burgers and jerky, and Oreos (a chance for him to rethink his boycott of the brand)—is on its way to former President Donald Trump following his recent campaign rally in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where he invited a Milwaukee-based vegan café owner onstage and said he was going to have to “try that vegan food.”
“When he gets back to Mar-a-Lago and digs into the vegan vittles that PETA’s sent to him, Mr. Trump might well swear off beef burgers,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “PETA wants to make his diet great—maybe not again but for the first time.”
People have been surprised to hear that Trump once stopped a mule diving act at Atlantic City’s Steel Pier at PETA’s request—and he may surprise them again by adopting a diet that spares nearly 200 animals a year and reduces his own risk of suffering from cancer, heart disease, strokes, diabetes, and obesity. PETA’s free vegan starter kit can help others looking to make the switch.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—points out thatEvery Animal Is Someone and offers free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness. For more information, please visit PETA.org or follow the group on X, Facebook, or Instagram.
