Cruelty-Free Plea From peta2 Inspires Young Shoppers at Destiny USA

Animal testing breaks hearts! That’s the message that peta2—part of PETA’s youth division—is sending to back-to-school shoppers at Destiny USA to remind them to buy only cruelty-free cosmetics and other products that never hurt animals. The group’s message—displayed near Urban Outfitters, Ulta Beauty, and LUSH—includes a QR code that links to PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies database so that conscientious consumers can easily discover which companies and brands are animal-friendly and get a free pocket shopping guide.

“It’s easy to go back to school in style while choosing products that don’t harm a hair on a rabbit’s head,” says peta2 Senior Director Rachelle Owen. “Because animal testing is as cruel as it is useless, peta2 encourages young people to shop with compassion—and PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies list is here to help.” 

PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies database lists more than 6,600 companies and brands from around the world that have banned all animal tests in favor of effective, modern, non-animal methods, thereby sparing rabbits, mice, guinea pigs, and other animals painful and deadly tests in which substances are applied to their eyes and shaved skin, sprayed in their faces, or forced down their throats. Because of the vast physiological differences between humans and the animals used in these tests, the results are often misleading.
