Comedians Kelsey Cook and Chad Daniels Star in Raunchy Spay and Neuter Ad for PETA

Animal adoption is serious business, but comedians Kelsey Cook and Chad Daniels couldn’t resist injecting a few self-effacing jokes and dry humor into their saucy new public service announcement (PSA) for PETA, which features the couple riffing in the style of a comedic blooper reel and was filmed at their Minnesota home alongside their animal companions, Bo, Mia, and Bungaloo.
Following the August premiere of Cook’s comedy special, PETA’s video shows the couple lounging on the couch in their sunroom as they reflect on how Daniels got “fixed” himself (“It’s actually kind of awesome!”), what PSA really stands for (“Please stop, a**hole”), and that, according to Cook, “Too much p*ssy can be a “problem”—which prompts Daniels to respectfully disagree. All jokes aside, Cook and Daniels get serious long enough to strongly appeal to viewers to do right by companion animals by only adopting dogs and cats from shelters, never purchasing them from pet stores or breeders, and always having them spayed and neutered.
“Humans have created a dog and cat overpopulation and homelessness crisis,” says Daniels. “So we—humans—need to fix that right now.”
Around 70 million dogs and cats are homeless in the U.S. at any given time. Spaying and neutering is the single most important way to combat the homeless-animal crisis and also helps dogs and cats lead longer, healthier lives.
“They need loving homes,” Cook says in conclusion. “And they need them now.”
Cook and Daniels are part of a long list of celebrities—including Lisa Ann Walter, Ron Perlman, Tom Hardy, John Stamos, Ryan Eggold, Theo Rossi, and Cristin Milioti—who have teamed up with PETA to promote adoption.
