Bill Maher to Headline PETA’s ‘Stand-Up for Animals’ at Comedy Store on Sunday

Some of Hollywood’s most outspoken comics are teaming up for a benefit for the most outspoken animal rights group, PETA. With Bill Maher as headliner, this year’s “Stand-Up for Animals” will be supported by the talents of”Roastmaster General” Jeffrey Ross, Undateable‘s Ron Funches, the Nerdist network’s Kurt Braunohler, and IFC and Comedy Central star Laura Kightlinger. The showwill be at the legendary Comedy Store, which has “veganized” its menu for the occasion.
“The things we see that are done to animals can make you cry, but on Sunday, some of Hollywood’s smartest and most talented performers will have everyone in stitches,” says PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk. “On June 15, they’ll crack jokes at PETA’s expense to raise money to help dogs, elephants, mice, monkeys, and other animals.”
Other celebrities who are expected to attend include Mayim Bialik, Laura Vandervoort, Kevin Nealon, Renee Olstead, Russell Simmons, Jillian Michaels, and Owain Yeoman.
