Martha Stewart’s Vegan Leather Shoe Line Now Available at Payless
Martha Stewart—the marvelous television personality and probably the only person who can bake a pie better than your mother—recently teamed up with Payless to release a 100 percent vegan leather shoe collection!
Sure, we’re not all lifestyle experts like Martha Stewart. But with the “Martha Everyday” footwear line, we can dress just as compassionately as the home-living icon does. It offers a dozen styles, ranging from chic flats to stilettos. Better yet, we can expect even more styles in spring 2019.
“I am thrilled to partner with Payless to design a line of footwear that’s both beautiful and affordable,” Stewart wrote on her website. “For as long as I’ve been in business my goal has been to deliver well-made, beautiful products to my audience, at the right price. Payless has the same goal, making them a perfect partner to collaborate with to create gorgeous shoes that our customers can afford.”
To thank them for their kind collection, Stewart and Payless will receive PETA’s Compassionate Collaboration Award and a holiday box of cow-shaped vegan chocolates.
We’re not surprised that domestic diva Stewart has launched a vegan shoe line.
She’s a longtime PETA friend and has helped us expose that animals are trapped, bludgeoned, beaten, and killed for their fur and skin in the fashion industry. When asked about wearing animal fur, she told PETA, “I used to wear real fur, but, like many others, I had a change of heart when I learned what actually happens to the animals.”
In the past, Stewart has hosted influential vegans on an episode of The Martha Stewart Show. And with the aid of actor Michelle Rodriguez and comedian Cedric the Entertainer, she’s even wooed her current cooking show cohost, hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, into trying more vegan cuisine.
It’s no surprise that shoppers are clamoring for new animal-free designs—vegan leather accessories spare countless animals’ lives, help the environment, and are available at every price point. Even celebrity sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner have released a faux-fur and vegan leather collection, which is available at leading fashion retailers like Macy’s, Ardene, and Selfridges.
