Innovative Vegan Clothing Brand Brave GentleMan to Open Brooklyn Storefront

Brave GentleMan, this year’s winner of PETA UK’s Menswear Fashion Awards, calls themselves “disruptive menswear,” but this particular brand of rebellion is the compassionate kind. The vegan clothing brand and online shop—famous for its classic suits, outerwear, and dress shoes—specializes in high-end pieces made from organic, recycled, and 100 percent vegan materials from fair-trade sources.

We’re thrilled to announce that come February, a brick-and-mortar store will be outfitting Brooklyn’s finest. The store’s soft opening will take place on Thursday, December 15.

Joshua Katcher, the mastermind behind Brave GentleMan and also the popular Discerning Brute blog, embraces a slow-fashion production model, in which every step of the process is considered for its impact on animals and the environment.

Take the wool-free Brazilian tweeds and twills made from recycled cotton and recycled polyester or the Turkish vegan silk made from recycled water bottles. Footwear and accessories are made from Italian vegan leather—a high-tech microfiber that’s EU Ecolabel certified—and organic cotton dress shirts are dyed with eco-friendly dyes.
