Del Taco is quickly becoming one of the country’s most vegan-friendly fast-food chains. It’s known for its Mexican-inspired options, such as tacos and burritos, as well as for classics like French fries. After receiving guidance from PETA, it now offers protein-packed vegan Beyond Meat in both tacos and burritos at its more than 500 locations nationwide. It has also added two oversized vegan burritos for those days when you’re really hungry. The Epic Beyond Original Mex Burrito and the Epic Beyond Fresh Avocado Burrito are vegan without modifications and packed with 44 grams of plant-based protein.
The market for vegan meals is booming, as today’s conscientious consumers are opting to choose foods that are better for the environment, their personal health, and—of course—for animals. The demand for plant-based options is apparent at Del Taco—it reportedly sold 2 million Beyond Tacos in the two months after they debuted, and the chain saw an increase in customer visits. With options like these, it’s easy to eat vegan at chain restaurants while you’re on the go.
