Super Bowl LIII is almost here! The big game will be held on Sunday, February 3, at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, and we all know what that means—it’s time to celebrate. But there’s nothing celebratory about killing hundreds of millions of chickens for their wings. So opt for delicious vegan wings instead.
Will you be celebrating in Atlanta?
If so, you’re in luck. Georgia’s state capital is full of eateries that offer yummy vegan wings. Discover a few of our favorites:
Cafe Sunflower
The all-vegan Cafe Sunflower—with locations in both Buckhead and Sandy Springs—offers vegan Buffalo Lollipops that are to die for … except that no one actually died for them. They’re served with celery and a side of vegan blue cheese.
Envegan
Vegan chicken drumsticks? Check. Vegan spicy buffalo cauliflower wings? Check. Delivery? Check. Envegan, located just outside Atlanta in Morrow, will make all your Super Bowl appetizer dreams come true.
Go Vegetarian Restaurant
Atlanta’s Go Vegetarian Restaurant offers Buffalo Vegan Chicken Poppers that are sure to impress. The appetizer comes with six “fried chicken” poppers smothered in buffalo sauce. Vegan ranch dressing and celery sticks complete the delicious starter plate.
Graveyard Tavern
Atlanta’s Graveyard Tavern offers vegan wings and a variety of vegan-friendly sauce options. Choose from Buffalo, Jack BBQ, or Chernobyl. Yum!
Soul Vegetarian Restaurant No. 2
This all-vegan spot offers tofu, cauliflower, and its signature Kalebone “wings.” They come covered with one of Soul Vegetarian’s finger-licking homemade sauces. Pro tip: Add the collard greens and macaroni and cheese—you won’t regret it!
Viva La Vegan
Sack cruel chicken wings in favor of Viva La Vegan’s fried cauliflower appetizer, or try the restaurant’s Buffalo Cauliflower Sub. Why get just wings when you can get wings and a sandwich?
The Wing Bar
The Wing Bar knows what’s up, which is why it offers the extremely popular Vings, aka “vegan wings.” The Wing Bar’s Vings are made to order—choose from Lemon Pepper, Extra Hot, Agave BBQ, etc.
Yard House
Atlanta is home to two Yard House restaurants, and both offer vegan Gardein wings. Choose from buffalo, firecracker, Korean, or ancho BBQ sauce.
If you’re not in Atlanta, no worries—Yard House restaurants can be found all around the U.S. Click to locate your nearest Yard House.
No game-day spread should be served with a side of cruelty.
So if you’re throwing or attending a Super Bowl party this year, you should choose one of the many at-home vegan wing options available at supermarkets nationwide. Field Roast’s FRuffalo Wings are a PETA favorite. (The miniature corn dogs aren’t bad either … just sayin’!)
Gardein’s Barbecue Chick’n Wings are another great option and available at stores such as Target, Whole Foods, Ralphs, and Kroger.
