Wait … what? I thought every day was Chocolate Day! But I’m not complaining—I’m not one to pass up an excuse to indulge. And indulge we will, as there are plenty of vegan chocolates to choose from. We have dark chocolate, soy milk chocolate, rice milk chocolate, chocolate truffles, peanut butter–filled chocolate, and chocolate-covered fruits and nuts. The list could go on forever!
Some of my favorite vegan chocolates happen to come from members of PETA Business Friends, such as Harbor Candy Shop, Allison’s Gourmet, and Decadently Raw Confections. You can feel good about making purchases from these companies because they’re committed to assisting in PETA’s groundbreaking work to stop animal abuse and suffering. Some other PETA Business Friends that are both chocolate lovers and suppliers include Missionary Chocolates: Handmade Vegan Truffles, Vegan Treats, and Chocolate Inspirations. Whatever your favorite chocolate treat is today, make sure that it’s cruelty-free by choosing a vegan option—because no one should have to suffer in order for us to celebrate. So what will you eat in honor of International Chocolate Day? I’d love to hear about it, so leave a comment and let me know!
