Vegan Tuna, Mozzarella, and Caviar: 2017’s Best New Vegan Products

Published by PETA Staff.

2017 has been quite a year for vegan food, and we can’t say that we’re surprised. More people are learning about everything from the horrid treatment of animals used for food to the health hazards of foods that they’d previously thought were healthy—not to mention the havoc that the meat and dairy industries are wreaking on our environment. Recently, we went to the Natural Products Expo East and were blown away by all the healthful and delicious plant-based eats. Check out these new vegan products to see how 2017 is helping to shape the future of food:

Plant-Based Foods is currently gaining traction with innovative products such as MozzaRisella plant-based cheese, Tartex vegan pâté, and a caviar that’s fish egg–free called Cavi-art.

Quorn Fishless Fingers and Chick’n Tenders and Cutlets that are clearly marked “vegan”? We’re so here for this.

If you haven’t tried Carob Soymilk from Eden Foods, you should—it’s really delicious and made from 100 percent organic, non-GMO soybeans.

New Frontera frozen meals include a Veggie Taco Bowl and a Veggie Taco Skillet that contains ancho chile tomato sauce, green beans, fire-roasted peppers, sweet potatoes, and plantains.

Fish-free tuna and vegan crab cakes by Good Catch Foods will soon hit stores and accomplish the brand’s mission of “disrupting the seafood category, not the ocean’s natural resources.” We love the products and can’t wait to see people’s reactions.

Alter Eco is coming out with new Coconut Clusters snacks in three flavors. Swoon!

Vegan Rob’s huge line of delicious, plant-based snacks is impressive, but Rob has really outdone himself this time with the new Beet Puffs. We think they’re going to blow your mind.

We love a good plant-based milk, and Veggemo milk is no exception. This gluten- and soy-free formula is a mix of peas, potatoes, and tapioca, and we think it’s just about perfect.

The Lily Puffs brand describes its new Lotus Flower Puffs as “like a cheese puff, but natural,” and we couldn’t agree more. The new snack is made from roasted, puffed water lily seeds, and they’re really something.

Miyoko’s Kitchen is now offering vegan mozzarella and will soon carry plant-based cream cheese. Needless to say, we can’t contain our excitement. The innovative vegan company already introduced a vegan butter stick this year (available at Trader Joe’s and other stores) to great reviews.
