Famous fighter Mike Tyson just threw his weight behind vegan fast food in a big way. Is this the start of a new animal-friendly revolution that could bring a “vegan McDonald’s” to every corner on the planet?
The boxing champ announced his investment in vegan restaurant chain Mr. Charlie’s through his holding company, Carma HoldCo. He highlighted that the company offers healthier fast food with animal-friendly options and praised it for its mission to hire unhoused individuals.
I very much believe in the healthy benefits of a vegan diet. … I’m proud to align myself with partners bringing healthy alternatives that taste good to the fast-food space. Mr. Charlie’s mission to help and hire those from the homeless community is something that I am truly passionate about, and I look forward to helping many people and communities with the expansion of Mr. Charlie’s across the globe.

Could Mr. Charlie’s Give McDonald’s a Run for Its Money?
Mr. Charlie’s opened its first location in Los Angeles in February 2022, with menu items reminiscent of those at McDonald’s but vegan. Since then, it has opened two additional locations in San Francisco and Sydney, Australia. With the support of celebrities like Tyson, the chain will be able to expand with more locations worldwide.
Mr. Charlie’s menu includes classic items like the simple but delicious Not a Hamburger, which comes with a cow-friendly burger patty, pickles, diced onions, ketchup, and mustard. Its sandwiches are available in Mr. Frowny meals, which come with four TiNDLE “chicken” nuggets, fries, and a drink. You can even try a vegan “Big Mac”: The Mr. Chuck is stacked with two vegan burger patties, dairy-free cheese, lettuce, pickles, diced onions, egg-free Mr. Chuck sauce, and an extra bun in the middle.
