Contest Details
PETA’s “Make Your Chicken a Star” contest will consist of two rounds: the entry round and the finalist round, during which finalists chosen by a PETA panel will be voted on by the public to help us determine the winner. You can enter the contest during the entry round only.
Here’s how it works: Submit your entry by 12 noon ET on October 18. If the entry is deemed appropriate by PETA, you’ll be in the running to win a prize package! Your first name, city, state, chicken’s name, and entry video may be posted on our website if you’re chosen as a finalist.
PETA will consider three factors in choosing the finalists:
- Your enthusiasm for your companion chicken, as demonstrated by your responses on the entry questionnaire
- PETA’s assessment of your chicken’s unique personality
- PETA’s assessment of the quality of the video you submit
PETA will consider four factors in choosing the winner:
- The total number of votes that your chicken receives
- Your enthusiasm for your chicken to win the title, as demonstrated by your promotion of your entry via social media
- Your enthusiasm for your companion chicken, as demonstrated by your responses on the entry questionnaire
- PETA’s assessment of the quality of the video you submit
All entries must be submitted by 12 noon ET on October 18. At 12 noon ET on November 18, PETA will announce 10 finalists—determined by a PETA panel—and voting will open to the public to help PETA determine whom it should select as the winner. Voting to help PETA determine the winner ends at 12 noon ET on December 2.
On January 13, the winner will be announced!
And now for the prizes! The winning chicken will be featured in a PETA-produced video highlighting his or her unique qualities, and the guardian will receive a prize package containing a PETA “EquALLity” T-shirt, a copy of The Main Street Vegan Academy Cookbook, vegan chicken from Fake Meats, and a gift basket with toys and treats for the winning chicken. The duo will also be featured in PETA Global.
