Armstrong World Industries Pulls Grizzly Bear Ad

January 2009   After receiving complaints about an Armstrong World Industries commercial featuring a grizzly bear, PETA wrote to the company to urge it to pull the ad from rotation immediately. After learning about the abuse that exotic animals in the entertainment industry endure, Armstrong quickly removed the commercial from circulation.  

Skadaddle Media Pledges to Leave Great Apes Out of Ads

January 2009   After PETA provided Skadaddle Media–an up-and-coming ad agency–with information about the abuse that is suffered by great apes who are forced into the entertainment industry, the agency immediately pledged never to use great apes in its advertising campaigns.

SEGA Pledges to Leave Chimpanzees Out of Ads

October 2008 After receiving complaints about a SEGA promotional video featuring a chimpanzee, PETA wrote to the company, urging it to discontinue the ad and refrain from using great apes in future advertising efforts. SEGA quickly removed the video from its Web site and promised not to produce any future ads featuring great apes.
