PETA’s Collecting Donations for Hurricane Helene Victims

This weekend, we’ll be distributing supplies to the families of companion animals who suffered damage from Hurricane Helene in Avery County, North Carolina.

Through Friday, we’re collecting donations of animal care supplies at our Front Street headquarters, the Sam Simon Center—including orders placed online and shipped directly to our office.

On Friday, we’ll make the seven-hour journey from PETA’s Norfolk headquarters to the High Country to distribute your donations to the families who need them most.

Have a Plan: Disasters Spell Danger and Death for Companion Animals

One of the deadliest elements of natural disasters is surprise. If your family includes animal companions, consider: Do you have a plan to keep them safe in case of emergency?

Whatever you do, never leave animal companions behind in an evacuation. Not only is it terrifying for them, it’s also often deadly. PETA’s rescue teams have found animals up to their necks in water and trapped inside flooded homes with no escape.

Unable to Donate Supplies? Help Another Way

Donations to PETA’s Global Compassion Fund support teams that rescue animal victims of disasters—both natural and man-made—delivering hope when it’s needed most.
