Chrissy has been with PETA or the PETA Foundation as a volunteer, employee, or cheerleader since 1996. She holds the informal record of adopting the most companion animals from PETA, including two rescued Pekin ducks, Quackers and Crackers. She has a master’s degree in the humanities and is in love with writing. Her work has been published in USA Today, The Washington Post, the Austin American-Statesman, The Free Lance-Star, The St. Petersburg Times, and many other newspapers. When Chrissy’s not blogging, she’s stalking her cats and dogs, determined to catch every spotted belly and toe curl on camera.
“Almost all of us grew up eating meat, wearing leather, and going to circuses and zoos. We never considered the impact of these actions on the animals involved. For whatever reason, you are now asking the question: Why should animals have rights?”
— Ingrid E. Newkirk, PETA President and co-author of Animalkind
