Are These Chihuahuas Too Cute for Their Own Good?
Is this Chihuahua duo’s cuteness a curse?
Why else would 1-year-old Chihuahua mama Persephone and her 8-week-old puppy, Potato, still be hanging around after last weekend’s mega adopt-a-thon event at PETA’s Sam Simon Center in Norfolk, Virginia? Is it possible that they’re too cute for their own good? Perhaps most potential adopters looked elsewhere, thinking that surely these would be the first dogs to be adopted. Alas, this was not the case. But here’s your chance to remedy that oversight.
Persephone and Potato were taken in by the Danville Area Humane Society after a concerned person saw them for sale online as part of a yard sale. Why anyone would want to unload these two pups, along with their unwanted trinkets and toasters, is anybody’s guess. Potato is arguably the world’s cutest puppy, and Persephone is basically perfection personified. She is breathtakingly beautiful, with long, silky fur—but her beauty isn’t just skin deep. She’s also friendly and affectionate, liberally distributing tiny kisses to everyone she meets.
Her only fault, if you want to call it that, is that she is a slightly overprotective mom who worries about her baby’s safety when other dogs get too close (this does not extend to humans, whom she trusts implicitly). For this reason, it would be preferable if the pair were adopted into a home without other dogs, although if adopted separately, Persephone would probably be fine with other canines.
