Selfies Needed to End Deadly Navy-Funded Experiments
The U.S. Navy squeezes the life out of animals in deadly decompression sickness/illness (DCS/DCI) and oxygen toxicity experiments. Not only are these tests irrelevant to human health, they’re also inconsistent with international standards adopted by our allies that no longer use animals for such purposes.
PETA is asking you to help end this atrocity masquerading as science.
If you’re a veteran of the U.S. Navy, please take a photo of yourself holding a sign—or a message on a laptop or tablet—that reads in large, bold letters, “I’m a U.S. Navy veteran. Stop torturing animals in experiments.” Please e-mail your photo to [email protected] with “Navy” in the subject line.
We’ll use these photos to send a powerful message to the Navy to get in line with international standards and end the use of all animals in these deadly and pointless DCS/DCI and oxygen toxicity tests in favor of superior, human-relevant, non-animal research methods.
By sending us your photo(s), you represent and warrant that you are a veteran of the U.S. Navy, that you’re the sole and exclusive owner of the photo(s), and that you irrevocably give PETA and other PETA entities the right to use, reproduce, and display the photo(s); distribute them to third parties; and create derivative works with your photo(s) in any manner and media, royalty-free and in perpetuity. You are agreeing to our collection, storage, use, and disclosure of your personal information in accordance with our privacy policy and terms of submission, as well as to receiving e-mails from us.
