End Experiments on Animals With These Three Simple Actions
Animal experimentation is a demonstrable failure, wasting time and billions of taxpayer dollars while killing animals by the hundreds of millions every year. These pointless tests consistently fail to advance science or improve human health.
That’s why PETA scientists have developed Research Modernization NOW—a practical, workable roadmap to the future of sound science, using cutting-edge research methods that don’t rely on the ineffective and abundantly cruel guesswork of animal experimentation.
Research Modernization NOW outlines how biomedical research can—BEGINNING TODAY—end funding for strategies that don’t work, such as experiments on animals, and switch to investing in human-relevant research.
But we haven’t stopped there.
PETA has developed a three-pronged strategy for you to join our fight to eliminate cruel experiments on animals and advance animal-free science that will help human patients in desperate need of treatments:
1. U.S. Residents Only: Urge your members of Congress to support PETA scientists’ Research Modernization NOW.
2. U.S. Residents Only: Ask your members of Congress to co-sponsor the CARGO Act.
The Cease Animal Research Grants Overseas (CARGO) Act is a revolutionary, bipartisan bill that would prevent the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from funding any experiments on animals outside the U.S.
The NIH shelled out $2.2 billion in taxpayer money to foreign organizations during the decade ending in 2021, funding about 200 foreign organizations with more than 1,350 grants and contracts involving experiments on animals in 45 countries.
The bill, HR-4757, was introduced in the House of Representatives Reps. Dina Titus (D-Nev.-01) and Troy Nehls (R-Texas-22).
3. Watch and share The Failed Experiment and Test Subjects.
Two must-see documentaries to add to your watch list. Watch, discuss, and SHARE widely.
The Failed Experiment: PETA teamed up with executive producer Bill Maher in this shocking 6-episode docuseries that lays bare the failure of current methods of medical research, which rely heavily on cruel and useless experiments on our fellow animals.
Test Subjects: By BAFTA-winning director Alex Lockwood, this documentary explores the pressure on aspiring scientists to experiment with animals to earn their diplomas.
With your help, we can end the suffering of hundreds of millions of animals in laboratories.
