PETA has been alerted to the plight of a cow who has reportedly been downed and unable to get up since at least November 29 in Quinlan, TX. Upon receiving the report, PETA immediately contacted the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office; we were told that officials responded to the location on December 1 and confirmed that the cow is suffering from a broken leg. Unfortunately, we were also told that officials have no plans to intervene on this animal’s behalf. Despite our requests for intervention, PETA was given no assurances that help would come.

Texas Penal Code Section 42.09 “Cruelty to Livestock Animals” prohibits a person from intentionally, knowingly or recklessly cruelly treating an animal—and included in the definition is “failing to provide…care.” This cow needs your voice!
