Assistant to the Director (PETA Asia-Pacific)
Position Objective:
To provide a wide range of support to the director and assist him with projects, general tasks, and day-to-day operations. This position is based in Manila.

Reports to:
Director of PETA Asia-Pacific
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Communicate on behalf of the director regarding campaigns and celebrity involvement
- Respond to voice-mail and e-mail inquiries in the director’s absence, while exercising good judgment and confidentiality
- Maintain contact lists, files, and databases (including celebrity and photo-shoot databases)
- Maintain PETA Asia-Pacific’s standard operating procedures
- Coordinate travel arrangements
- Organize news conferences and social events with the help of the campaign coordinator
- Help coordinate special events, including celebrity photo shoots and tapings, using discretion and independent judgment
- Assist with the general activities of PETA Asia-Pacific
- Help coordinate celebrity-outreach efforts through activities, such as conducting research, drafting letters, and making follow-up calls
- Perform any other duties assigned by the director
Qualifications:
- Exceptional writing abilities, especially in composing and editing letters
- Ability to make sound judgments and work independently
- Ability to deal with a wide range of people in a professional manner
- Diplomacy, friendliness, and patience
- Ability to take initiative and follow through
- Proven strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Exceptional oral communication skills in English and preferably in other Asian languages as well
- Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns
- Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA Asia-Pacific’s philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA Asia-Pacific’s positions on issues
- Commitment to the objectives of the organization
