Please see the following statement from PETA Senior Vice President Kathy Guillermo regarding the first Kentucky Derby in which all horses will run without Lasix:

While too many horses are still suffering and dying in the horse racing industry, the first drug-free Kentucky Derby—and Triple Crown—is an important step forward. Now, racing must boot the dopers out. Trainers who violate drug regulations must be slapped with more than small fines—their licenses should be permanently revoked.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to use for entertainment or abuse in any other way”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org.
