PETA’s Lawsuit to Save Lolita From the Miami Seaquarium Upheld by U.S. Court of Appeals

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit reversed a district court’s dismissal of PETA’s lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) challenging the agency’s decision to license the Miami Seaquarium after it was sold in 2014. PETA will return to court to argue that the USDA unlawfully licensed Palace Entertainment when it purchased the park and that Lolita the orca cannot remain in current conditions if it wishes to continue exhibiting any animals to the public.
