Brazilian Star Luisa Mell Urges Fans to Boycott Forever 21 and Ditch Wool
Still think wool is “just a haircut” for sheep? Brazilian actor and activist Luisa Mell is here to dispel that dangerous myth in under two minutes by showing the world what sheep really experience in the wool industry.
In her exclusive PETA video, Luisa urges consumers to boycott Forever 21 until the fast-fashion brand stops selling wool. Speaking from the perspective of a sheep, her video narration describes a lifetime of agony and fear alongside footage from several investigations by PETA and PETA entities into this violent trade.
“I was born in a cold desert, where my mom was sent to give birth. … She died a few hours after I was born from hypothermia and infection,” Luisa says at the start of the video. “I’ll never forget her. That was the beginning of a life full of pain.”
“I don’t understand why they’re so mean. I saw them cut my friends’ throats with a knife after they had stopped growing enough wool. … Now I live in fear, wondering when they will do that to me, too.”
Luisa is a true animal advocate, as anyone can see from her popular Instagram account, which is almost entirely dedicated to animal rescue and activism. In 2018, she collaborated with PETA for an anti-SeaWorld campaign urging Brazilian families to say “não” to the marine park, which still imprisons dozens of animals and forcibly inseminates dolphins and beluga whales. She even has her own rescue organization, Instituto Luisa Mell, which manages rescue, recovery, and adoption for injured or at-risk animals.
Forever 21: Morally Bankrupt for Using Wool
Like all animals, sheep feel pain and are not ours to use for sweaters, scarves, mittens, or anything else. From holding protests outside Forever 21 storefronts to launching targeted ad campaigns, PETA will continue to pressure the company to stop profiting from an industry in which gentle sheep are mutilated, terrorized, and eventually killed.

- Leave a polite comment on Forever 21’s Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter accounts to urge the company to ditch wool and use only vegan materials.
