Please see the following statement from PETA Senior Vice President Kathy Guillermo regarding the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s citation of Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix for the death of a dog under anesthesia:
The experimenters and staff who killed a young dog with anesthesia should never be allowed to experiment on animals again. This incident was not only a violation of the law but also evidence of a serious lack of training and knowledge. The lives of animals should not be entrusted to them—yet federal records show that Dignity Health also used cats, pigs, and rabbits. Hospital officials need to shut down this program now.
PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to experiment on”—opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org.
