Malcolm Klimowicz’s #MinkTrial Will Continue in February!

Update: April 7, 2021

Not guilty! Animal activist Malcolm Klimowicz had been facing a criminal charge of break and enter for capturing video footage showing minks crammed into small, filthy cages with wire flooring that dug into their feet—but on April 7, he was acquitted of all charges, thanks to PETA friend and lawyer Gary Grill and associate Alexandra Pester, who fought the case and won.

This is great news for Malcolm and animals and demonstrates that no one should ever be penalized for showing compassion to others. Thank you to everyone else who helped make this happen by urging officials to open the trial to the public!

After more than 20,000 PETA supporters took action, activist Malcolm Klimowicz’s trial will be available for public viewing online.

Malcolm is facing a criminal charge of break and enter for capturing video footage showing minks crammed into small cages with wire flooring that dug into their feet. Cobwebs and rust covered the cages. Food was dumped on top of them, and mountains of waste and maggot-infested puddles collected underneath. One mink’s head had an open sore, and several other minks were missing ears. One was lying motionless, while others had to climb over the decomposing corpse of a cagemate.

Animal rights activist Malcolm Klimowicz is facing a criminal charge of break and enter for capturing video footage that shows minks suffering on squalid fur farms in Canada. His trial will be held online, and as of now, no public access to the hearing via Zoom has been provided.

Malcolm’s footage revealed that minks were forced to live in small, wire-floored cages covered with cobwebs and encrusted with feces. Food was dumped on top of the cages, and mountains of waste and maggot-infested puddles collected underneath them. One mink’s head had an open sore, and several others were missing ears. One was lying motionless, while others had to climb over the decomposing corpse of a cagemate. Minks are shy, solitary animals who are fearful of humans and enjoy having a vast habitat in which to forage, climb, and swim. Denying them their freedom supports speciesism, and we need your help to end it.

Malcolm entered these farms because, like many people, he’d simply had enough. Animals, he said, are suffering to make “stupid clothing decorations,” yet the industry continues to mislead the public about the way animals are treated.
