Urge Toronto Apartment Complex to End Pigeon Trapping!
Roselawn Terrace, a residential community in Toronto, Ontario, has reportedly once again hired a contractor to deploy traps and remove pigeons who are simply trying to eke out an existence in the area. In addition to tearing wild families apart and leaving orphaned young to starve, such initiatives are traumatic for trapped animals, who experience immense panic and can succumb very quickly to exposure, stress, dehydration, or injuries sustained in frantic attempts to escape.
And as apparently evidenced by reported past trapping initiatives at this location, removing wildlife actually backfires because the resultant spike in the food supply accelerates breeding among survivors, while the inevitable newcomers arrive for the still-available resources. PETA contacted representatives of the apartment facility but to no avail. Now it’s your turn to speak up!
