Reward of Up to $5,000 Offered in Deadly Dog-Dumping Case

PETA Joins Police in Search for Culprit(s) Who Abandoned Severely Injured Dog Near Parking Lot

PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and cruelty-to-animals conviction of the person(s) who left a suffering dog in a cardboard box near the Rolling Green Elementary School parking lot.

A local resident discovered the black French bulldog on the evening of July 8. When police arrived, they found the 2-year-old dog foaming at the mouth, breathing rapidly, and unable to walk. An emergency veterinary clinic found that her temperature was at least 110℉—the highest the thermometer could register—and she had a large gaping wound on her chest just above her front left leg, possibly from fireworks. She had multiple seizures and brain swelling and had to be euthanized that night.

“Her wounds could have been treated if she had been surrendered, and she would have lived and found a new home,” Boynton Beach Police Animal Cruelty Investigator Liz Roehrich tells PETA.

“Our dogs rely on us to take care of them, yet this one was badly injured and abandoned to die alone and in pain,” says PETA Vice President Colleen O’Brien. “PETA is asking for the community’s help in identifying the person responsible for this dog’s horrible suffering.”
