PETA has released new video of Dillan (the bear who was rescued from the Union County Sportsmen’s Club in Pennsylvania last month following a big PETA push) savoring a leisurely wake-up in his new home at The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado.
Dillan’s new life couldn’t be more different from what he endured for 10 years at the Sportsmen’s Club, where he was denied veterinary care for serious health issues and held in a barren concrete cage next to a shooting range. Now, as he recovers at the sanctuary’s veterinary clinic, he sleeps on a soft straw bed and spends his days tucking into feasts of fresh fruits and vegetables and interacting with bear-appropriate enrichment. Soon, Dillan will be released into a multi-acre naturalistic habitat, where he’ll live with another rescued bear named Lily.
PETA’s motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to use for entertainment,” and we oppose speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. For more information, please visit PETA.org.
