New York City Council Bans the Sale of Foie Gras, Made From Force-Feeding Ducks and Geese

Victory! The sale of foie gras, a dish made from the diseased, fattened livers of ducks or geese who’ve been force-fed and then slaughtered, has been banned in New York City. From our first foie gras farm investigation decades ago to our recent, nearly year-long effort in which we sent out e-mail alerts and attended city council hearings, PETA has worked diligently to expose and put an end to the cruel force-feeding of animals. New York City now joins the state of California in banning this inhumane food, and we look forward to seeing which city or state bans it next.
