After Years of Urging by PETA, Trader Joe’s Redesigns Circus-Themed Products to Be Animal-Free

After PETA urged Trader Joe’s to redesign the packaging of several products that showed animals performing circus tricks—including its toilet paper, its Bamba snacks, and some of its peanut butter jars—the company updated all the imagery to be animal-free. This compassionate decision is a victory for elephants, tigers, bears, and other animals who are carted from city to city in cramped boxcars and forced to perform tricks under the constant threat of punishment. Trader Joe’s has joined American Eagle, Kellogg’s, Nabisco, and other companies that have taken a stand against animal circuses.
