No matter how you slice it, tasty vegan pizza is a treat that can’t be topped. And ordering vegan at Pieology Pizzeria is a cinch, thanks to the chain’s meat- and dairy-free crust, sauces, cheese, and toppings.
We were so impressed with Pieology’s “Plant-Based Protein” toppings line that we gave it a Proggy Award (“Proggy” is for “progress”) in February.
But it’s not just toppings—the chain’s vegan crust option, animal-friendly sauces, and dairy-free cheese make it one of the most vegan-friendly pizza chains in the U.S. Keep scrolling to find out how to order a vegan pizza at Pieology:
Step 1: Choose Your Crust
Opt for Pieology’s gluten-free crust—currently, the chain’s only vegan-friendly crust option.
Step 2: Choose Your Sauce
Pieology offers multiple vegan sauce options: House-Made Red, BBQ, Fiery Buffalo, and Sunflower-Olive Oil Blend.
Step 3: Choose Your Cheese
Pieology currently offers just one vegan cheese option: Daiya mozzarella. The good news is that unlike at other eateries, opting for vegan cheese at Pieology won’t cost you extra!
Step 4: Choose Your Toppings
Here’s where it gets exciting. Of course, Pieology offers loads of veggie toppings. Pile your pie high with options such as black olives, mushrooms, red onions, green peppers, artichokes, garlic, pineapple, jalapeños, fresh cilantro, spinach, banana peppers, fresh basil, grape tomatoes, and roasted red peppers.
Then load it up with vegan protein toppings (currently a $1 upgrade). Choose from vegan meatballs, vegan spicy Italian sausage rounds, and Gardein vegan diced chicken. (Or choose all three!)
Step 5: Choose Your After-Bake Sauce
Get a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil or BBQ, Fiery Buffalo, or House-Made Red sauce atop your fresh-out-of-the-oven vegan pizza.
Bonus: Opt For Pieology’s Chef-Inspired Signature Recipe Vegan Pizza
If you’re not into the whole customizable-pizza thing, try Pieology’s Buffalo Vegan Pizza, featuring gluten-free crust, red sauce, Daiya cheese, “spicy Italian sausage rounds,” “diced chicken,” roasted red peppers, green peppers, onions, and after-bake buffalo sauce. Yum!
