Models in Vegan Wool Suits to Hit the Street to Kick Off Men’s Fashion Week

Green Catwalk Will Showcase Vegan Menswear in Collection Benefiting PETA

Models on a green catwalk erected in the Meatpacking District will show off the latest in eco-friendly, animal-free menswear on the first day of Men’s Fashion Week. Proceeds from the sale of the collection, by Stephen F, will benefit PETA.

When:    Monday, June 3, 1 p.m. sharp

Where:    Stephen F Flagship Store, 36 Little W. 12th St. (near the intersection with Washington Street), New York City

Stephen F—who’s dressed Nick Jonas, Maxwell, and Darren Criss—has created a new line of suits made of vegan materials like WonderFelt, which is fabricated from recycled plastic bottles. The runway show will feature top male model Alex Lundqvist (seen below in one of the new collection’s vegan wool suits) and men from Q Model Management. Produced by Kelly Cutrone and People’s Revolution, the show will feature the music of Prince, who shunned wool as well as leather and fur.

“Since there have been numerous vegan womenswear shows, I felt compelled to prove that stylish menswear can be just as animal-friendly,” Stephen F says.

“The more people who learn about the cruelty behind animal-based materials, the more demand there is for vegan fashion,” adds PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews.

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to wear”—has published more than a dozen exposés of the global wool trade revealing that sheep are routinely beaten and mutilated. For more information, please visit PETA.org.
