PETA Statement: SeaWorld Is Still Hiding Useful Data

Please see the following statement from PETA Foundation Deputy General Counsel for Animal Law Jared Goodman concerning SeaWorld’s release of data from captive orca blood tests, which excluded pregnant and sick whales:

If SeaWorld actually wanted to help sick orcas in the wild, it would release data concerning sick orcas in its tanks. Instead, PETA has been forced to file a lawsuit in an attempt to obtain the necropsy reports of wild-caught orcas who died in SeaWorld’s theme parks. The company’s interest is in optics, not transparency.

PETA’s motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to use for entertainment,” and the group opposes speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview. More information is available at SeaWorldOfHurt.com.
