A grown man in a diaper careers around London on a tricycle, asks a stranger to burp him, plays with his food, and drinks “milk.” It’s PETA U.K.’s latest video (released today and available here), which highlights the absurdity of drinking cow’s milk after the age of weaning. The prank video urges viewers who may cringe at the exploits of this man-baby to ditch dairy, stating, “It’s time we grew up.

“Humans have the embarrassing distinction of being the only species to drink another’s mammary secretions and to do so into adulthood,” says PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “PETA’s video will make people laugh but also points out that a grown man drinking milk is just as daft as asking to be burped.”

PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to eat”—notes that vegan milks made from soy, coconut, almonds, oats, and hemp are age-appropriate, healthy, and delicious options for thirsty humans. They contain none of the artery-clogging animal fat and cholesterol of cow’s milk, which also often contains traces of pus and bacteria from cows’ infected udders. In addition, these drinks spare female cows a lifetime of being forcibly impregnated and repeatedly separated from their babies until their bodies give out and they’re slaughtered for cheap meat. Using (and then slaughtering) cows for milk is a form of speciesism, discrimination and exploitation of “others.”

This video is PETA U.K.’s second anti-dairy collaboration with top creative agency Don’t Panic. The first video, known as “Dog Milk,” has been viewed more than 10 million times.
