Fast Retailing and Lacoste Ban Mohair
After learning from PETA that goats in the mohair industry are dragged by the horns, legs, and tails and their skin is cut off during shearing, Fast Retailing—which owns Theory, Helmut Lang, and J Brand, among others—and Lacoste banned mohair! More than 340 brands have turned their backs on the cruel mohair industry, in which goats are subjected to painful mutilations, including castration and workers punching needled pliers through their ears, without any painkillers. Tell Free People to join Fast Retailing, Lacoste, and the hundreds of other brands worldwide—including QVC, zulily, Pottery Barn, and Williams-Sonoma—that have dropped mohair.
