Abusive Traveling Act Closes, Releases Bears to a Reputable Sanctuary

The abusive traveling act The Great Bear Show has shut down after a vigorous PETA campaign, and all five bears formerly exploited by the show have been released to a reputable sanctuary. This victory follows eyewitness videos, complaints to authorities about the bears’ conditions, and nearly 200,000 e-mails from PETA members and supporters urging fairs and venues to drop their plans to host the cruel act. This means that The Great Bear Show will no longer confine bears to barren cages, chain them to chairs for photo ops, and force them to perform confusing tricks.
