What: February is National Spay/Neuter Awareness Month—and to promote fixing the companion-animal overpopulation crisis, Dr. Drew Pinsky will join PETA and Council Member for the 13th District Mitch O’Farrell for a special news conference on Thursday, when Dr. Drew will launch his new public service announcements (PSA) for PETA’s “Let’s Fix L.A.” program.
When: Thursday, February 8, 9:30 a.m.
Where: PETA’s Bob Barker Building, 2154 W. Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles
“Look, when it comes to sex, too much of a good thing is not a good thing. And that goes for everyone—including our cats and dogs,” says Dr. Drew in the new spots. “The best advice I can give to everyone is to get their animals spayed and neutered. After all, it is the law!”
At the conference, Dr. Drew and O’Farrell will share how PETA—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to abuse in any way”—can help residents find low-cost spay/neuter services in order to comply with city law, which requires them to “fix” their dogs and cats who are 4 months of age or older. They’ll also discuss the benefits of spaying and neutering, from combating the homeless-animal overpopulation crisis to safeguarding dogs’ and cats’ health.
Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, whose PSA promoting “Let’s Fix L.A.” will air on local radio stations this month, will also be in attendance and available for interviews.
