Wearing little more than bodypaint and a faux-fur tail, YouTube star Teala Dunn stars as a woodland fox in a new anti-fur ad for peta2, PETA’s youth division, that proclaims, “Leave Fur in the Forest. Animals Aren’t Clothing.”
Dunn also sat down with peta2 for an exclusive video interview in which she talks about why she decided to pose for the campaign. “I wouldn’t want to wear my dog’s fur, so why would I want to wear a fox fur or just any type of fur?” she says. “I try to stay away from fur altogether, and if I do pick something that has fur, I make sure that it’s 100 percent fake fur. Make sure you check the labels of everything you buy.”
peta2—whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to wear”—notes that rabbits, foxes, minks, and other animals on fur farms are bludgeoned, electrocuted, killed, and even skinned alive for coats, collars, cuffs, pompoms, key chains, and other accessories.
Dunn is part of a growing list of celebrities—including Kalel, Torrey DeVitto, Olivia Munn, P!nk, Kesha, and Nev Schulman—who have teamed up with peta2 (whose motto reads, in part, that “animals are not ours to wear”) to promote kinder wardrobe choices.
