Chinese Artists Exhibit Compassion for Fur Victims

Ever wonder how young people in China feel about the gruesome slaughter of animals for fur cuffs and collars? A flood of 12,352 artistic entries to Design Against Fur, which was co-organized by Swiss Animal Protection, Fur Free Alliance, and World Society for the Protection of Animals, makes it very clear that many students from all over China oppose the killing.

The winning entry, by Zhang Qian, is now on display at Renmin University of China along with works from other artists.
In light of this outpouring of compassion (not to mention China’s recent landmark ban on animal shows in zoos and circuses and the launch of PETA Asia’s anti-fur video), one can’t help but feel optimistic—and inspired.
